The last leg of my trip took us from Gulfport to New Orleans along old Highway 90. Slower than the I-10, Highway 90 takes you through great towns such as Bay St. John and Pass Christian—as well as through long stretches of fishing camps that are all up on stilts.

We arrived in New Orleans just in time for an afternoon storm complete with thunder, lightening and a torrential downpour. A live oak dropped a branch into the street right in front of us, but amazingly landed where there were no cars.

With not a lot of time to spend here, we popped into one of our favorite places—Franky and Johnny's—for a roast beef poboy. Afterwards, we drove around the neighborhood to check on things and then it was off to the airport!

Three states in five days!
