FAMILY REUNION
My mom's side of my family came to the US from Italy in the early 1900s and settled in Seattle. Like many, my great-grandfather went back and forth between here and Italy many times before finally bringing all of the family over. It was 1906 by the time Alfonso and Filomena Tocco come across the Atlantic on a ship with my grandmother's generation.
Five out of twelve of the Tocco children would survive to adulthood. These five—and their cousins—would become the roots of our family tree in the US. And now we celebrate with a reunion every year. This one will be our 40th.
I'm working on some hand lettering for this year's tees...
