LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Preparing for deployment, my husband's been away from home a lot. He called me from Coronado one day with news that he had the weekend off at the last minute and asked if I could come down. So an hour later I was on my way to the airport.

We stayed in his barracks on Coronado, walked to town on the beach, met cats, had drinks and drove around. Our departing flights were on the same day at the exact same time. Me, back to Seattle and him, off to work far away.
